Things You Need To Know About Home Equity
by: Jay MonCliff
Taking advantage of existing equity in your home through an equity loan might seem an intelligent choice, especially in times of low interest rates. However, before you take a home equity loan to pay for children’s education, buy a car or just pay off credit cards, you should educate yourself about the risks associated with this type of finance, and whether it can work for you
In essence, a home equity loan uses the current equity you have in your home as collateral for a second mortgage. The more equity you have, the more you can borrow. As with all finance provided against security such as property, if you do not maintain your payments, you run the risk of foreclosure on your home. This fact comes as sobering news for many, so you must consider your ability to repay the loan before you borrow against the equity in your home.

If you are the one who is really worry about your carpet, here is some simple guide for treating stains and maintaining carpets and upholstery.
1. Always clean up spills quickly to avoid staining. Start by removing any solid debris. Clean the spill using clean, cold water and blotting with white paper towels or cloths. Never scrub or brush the spill as it will damage fibers and possibly set the stain. Only if this method does not work should you move on to harsher treatments.
2. Regular vacuuming and spot treatment will improve the quality and life span of your carpets and upholstery.
3. Since chemicals are hard on the fibers of carpets and upholstery, you should always start with the weakest solution before moving on. Start with clean water and move onto a mild solution of liquid soap (never use laundry detergent) or an oxygen based cleaner which usually works well on organic stains (food, animal, blood) before using chemical spot removers.
Carpet spot removal products are made with some of the most dangerous chemicals and should always be applied when wearing gloves and in an area with good ventilation.

The Beginning of Botany
Botany, as a science, was first conducted in the 4th century BC by the Greek philosopher Theophrastus. Relax in a Hammock
by: Dawn Rowlett
Hammocks have been a standard for backyards for decades. Although they traditionally come from South American and Caribbean cultures, they have easily become a part of modern life. They are the ultimate way to just kick back and relax, and even doze off for a while. Just like most things, the hammock has been developed for maximum comfort and practicality.
Hammocks are a staple in homes in the Mexican state of the Yucatan. They have been made there for centuries and are hand woven by women and children alike. They are made in villages all around Mexico, though they are also made and sold worldwide. Hammocks have also been widely used on ships by sailors. Since they rock with the movement of the ship, they make sleeping on a ship much safer than a bed. Whether or not these cultural backgrounds have helped the popularity of the hammock is not know, but the practicality of the hammock sells it for itself.

After using an oral medicine or any treatment make sure that you understand and follow the directions for applying it. What Should Be Considered Before Installing A Swimming Pool?
by: Mary Williams
Are you thinking of installing a swimming pool? But you still do not know what should be considered as factors before investing.
First of all, budget is a huge factor, but not the only consideration. First, evaluate your reason for installing a pool. Is it purely for recreation? Do you have a family member who has a health condition that might benefit from daily swimming? What kind of space do you have for your pool? Do you plan on using the pool year round? What kind of building codes might apply in your city? Will your pool be for exercise only? Do you plan to include a hot tub or spa?
A good planning will help you a lot to minimize extra expenditures. Generally, we often end up spending much more than originally intended. Give some consideration to how you would like the area around the pool landscaped and plan on that expense. Have you given any thought to maintenance cost? Pumps, filters and chemicals are regular expenses that need to be budgeted. Filling your pool initially will cause your water bill to rise significantly the first month. You will also want to consider the expense of water loss through normal usage of the pool.
Fall Flowering Bulbs
January 24, 2010
Deciduous trees dazzle us with the brilliance of the golds, oranges and reds they display before dropping their leaves in the autumn. However, you don’t have to be satisfied with autumn leaf color alone. Consider planting fall flower bulbs.
Spring-flowering bulbs are universal symbols of spring. Many of us wait to see the cheerful little crocus as it pops through the last of the winter snows. The delicate narcissus, the colorful tulip, and the sunny daffodil are all spring flowering bulbs that bring out smiles after long, colorless winters. Just as spring-flowering bulbs bring a welcome burst of color as they usher in the season, fall flower bulbs offer you a last blast of vibrancy to keep in memory through a long, colorless winter.
There are two main differences between spring flower bulbs and fall flower bulbs. Spring flower bulbs are planted in the fall and need a cold period of winter dormancy to flower. Fall flower bulbs are typically planted in the spring or summer. Most fall flower bulbs aren’t winter hardy and need to be lifted in the autumn and stored until time for the next spring planting.
